Description
Discover the all-new Dora Wings model kit, featuring the iconic Republic P-43 Lancer, a precursor to the legendary P-47 Thunderbolt. This meticulously crafted kit represents the AP-4 prototype, an advanced iteration of the P-35, but with a retractable main body that's notably larger. The P-43 Lancer, a high-altitude fighter, boasts a landing gear and a turbocharger ingeniously integrated at the bottom of its fuselage. Powered by a formidable 1,200-horsepower R-1830 air-cooled radial 14-cylinder engine, this aircraft achieved a groundbreaking top speed of 565km/h during test flights, marking it as the first U.S. military fighter to exceed 500 kilometers per hour. Its impressive capabilities didn't stop there; it could ascend beyond 10,000 meters, enabling photography of Mt. Everest's summit from an altitude of 13,000 meters. Until the emergence of the P-38, the P-43 was the sole Allied aircraft capable of intercepting the Japanese Army’s Type 100 command reconnaissance aircraft.
This model kit is not just a piece of history; it's a comprehensive package that includes photo-etched parts, painting mask stickers, and decals for four distinct U.S. Army Air Force versions. Whether you're a seasoned modeler or new to the hobby, this kit promises an engaging assembly experience with a stunningly detailed end result. Make it a centerpiece of your collection today!
