Description
Introducing the Arashio-class destroyer model kit, adapted from Hasegawa!
The Asashio-class was a series of ten Imperial Japanese Navy fleet destroyers developed from earlier `TOKU` (special class) destroyers and constructed under the Maru-2 Supplementary Naval Expansion Budget of 1934. These ships became the basis for the later Kagero and Yugumo classes of fleet destroyers.
Completed in December 1937, the Arashio was fourth in the series of Asashio-class destroyers built for the IJN. In March 1943, she was attacked and rendered immobile by American and Australian bombers during the Battle of Bismarck Sea.
This model kit recreates the Arashio after its reinforcement with the first anti-aircraft weapons (a 25mm consolidator gun in front of the bridge and two 25mm triple machine guns in front of the second chimney). The package illustration was created by Tankro Kato. Order today!
